I am a professional dancer, a certified health and wellness coach, and a Pilates mat instructor.  I have been dancing since the age of 5 and received my early dance training from Coupe Theater Studios in Rockland County. I then went on to train at The Juilliard School, the California Institute of the Arts, the New York State Summer School of the Arts and American Dance Festival. My career spans almost 20 years and in that time I have danced with acclaimed companies in NYC and Chicago including the prestigious Metropolitan Opera and The Chicago Lyric Opera. I toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States. I danced Argentine Tango for five years at the most renowned shows and venues in Buenos Aires.  I was a five time top finalist in the tango world championship

My show and rehearsal schedule was intense , to say the least.  I danced 6 sometimes 7 night a week.  Our company rehearsals were often scheduled after the show running late into the night. Not to mention my daily rehearsals with my dance partner.  This rigorous schedule and continual physical demands took an incredible toll on my body and required continual self care. Over the course of my career I have suffered major injuries - a fractured elbow, herniated disc, hip labral tear and a dislocated shoulder, just to name a few. Like many young dancers I battled anorexia nervosa.  All of these ailments required a commitment to self care to heal. The learnings from each ailment are at the root of my interest in health and wellness.

Modern medicine is incredible. Vaccines, life savings surgeries, organ transplants - all modern miracles. However, I am astounded by how often doctors recommend surgery or pain medication without any discussion of nutrition or movement. Oftentimes “chronic” conditions are simply longstanding conditions that require patience and exploration to resolve. I am in awe of the body’s ability to heal and regenerate and I am fascinated by the concept of food as medicine.

I knew I wanted to work in the field of health and wellness. My formal training and certification as a health coach is from the Integrative Institute of Nutrition. My goal is to help my clients create a wellness roadmap for their own individual needs. The foundation of my work is deeply rooted in the concept of bio-individuality. This means that your body has its own unique ecosystem and that your needs for maximum wellness are yours alone. There is no one size fits all system when it comes to health and wellness.
